It’s time to feast! Thanksgiving is often glanced over as everyone gets excited for Christmas time, but I think any reason for a celebration should be fully embraced (especially one that consists of so much yummy food)!
Whether you have family/friend traditions or not, here’s some more options to consider when planning your Thanksgiving festivities in Arizona.
The Purple Turtle is showing their gratitude this Thanksgiving by offering you a free comedy show! Jim Perry from JP’s Comedy Club, Joey G from Tucson, Zak Sprung from Dallas, and Jill Carlson from Colorado will be taking the stage for a lighthearted night of laughter. Additionally, there will be lots of drink and food specials.
Thanksgiving means a full weekend of turkey fun at Lazydays KOA Resort. There will be plenty of crafts and activities for all ages to keep everyone in the family entertained. Make sure to bring your favorite dish as a side for their potluck style dinner. Turkey, desserts, drinks, and wine will be provided, and you’ll get to try a variety of sides from your fellow campers!
Start your morning out with a good workout! That way, later on, you’ll be guilt-free as you make your way back to the dessert table for seconds. While you sweat it out, you’ll also be giving back to the community. The proceeds from the races will go towards the Peoria Diamond Club that provides grants to a variety of local charities including the Special Olympics Arizona.
The Thanksgiving Day Classic offers a 10 Mile race, 5k, and 1 Mile Fun Run. Finish in the top three of your age group and get yourself a delicious award of pie! Be sure to bring an unwrapped toy to donate to the Peoria Diamond Club’s Toy Drive. Wear that finisher medal proud as you celebrate the rest of the day.
The ASA Now, Advocacy, Support, and Assistance for Children and Family Impacted by Foster Care is hosting their 4th Annual Thanksgiving Feast. They’re looking for volunteers to help out at the event.
Spend the holiday giving back. Just giving a few hours of your time will make such a difference in these children’s lives. They’re estimating that there will be around 150 attendees, so visit their website and sign up for an allotted time slot.
Brought to you by Sutra Studios is the 14th Annual Gratitude Flow. Be sure to make your reservation and bring a yoga mat or blanket, water, and an “adventurous free spirit.” Whether you’re a seasoned pro or completely new to yoga, all levels are welcome. During the Gratitude Flow you’ll experience Soothing Vinyasa, Guided Meditation, a Gratitude Ceremony, and some Sweet Beats!
Leave all the cooking and prep for the professionals as you sit back and enjoy your Thanksgiving brunch. Four restaurants; Bourbon Steak, La Hacienda, Toro Latin Restaurant and Rum Bar, and Ironwood American Kitchen, will bring together five award-winning chefs to create your exquisite meal. The feast will be held in the Palomino Ballroom.
Make your reservation now for the Thanksgiving Fiesta Buffet. Purchase your admission tickets and choose between their 11 a.m, 1 p.m., or 3 p.m. time slots. Discounts are available for any Turquoise members and above, and you can find their full menu on their website!
