Nestled in the desert along Interstate 15 just outside of Las Vegas are seven massive dayglow totems.
Every two months, Mountain Shadows presents a new exhibition in their gallery curated by Cece Cole. Lucas J. Knowles was the latest artist to have his work displayed in the Gallery, ABSENCE/PRESENCE, PRESENCE/ABSENCE.
Let’s start out with a message from East Jesus.. “Please review our guide to survival in the East Jesus wasteland before you get yourself hurt or royally piss us off.”
Just east of the Salton Sea, you’ll find this sudden pop of color against the arid desert that reads “God Is Love.”
I knew it was rich in history, but I wasn’t expecting it to be so artsy. Along the way there were so many places to stop offering unique photo ops, perfect to spice up your insta feed.
As the majority of the area surrounding Salton Sea turned into the ghost town it is today, Bombay Beach took a slightly different route.
